One of the main goals of education in the field of science education is to develop the ability to explore, creativity and initiative in students. The development of these abilities is possible only through active teaching methods. One of the models that can develop a scientific attitude in students is the instruction model. The education approach based on the instruction model is an approach that places students in the learning process, and if this method is designed and implemented correctly, it can play an important role in acquiring cognitive skills such as creative thinking and scientific reasoning. In this paper, we will investigate the concept of oxidation-reduction reactions from the class 12 chemistry textbook using the 5E instruction model. The results show that the chemistry course has a high potential and efficiency for applying the 5E model due to its experimental, research and laboratory nature. In this approach, students participate in learning with enthusiasm and energy, and the total of the activities increases their exploration and creativity.
